Join the Onset Bay Center on Sunday, Oct. 29 for the center's second-annual Halloween Paddle Parade. 

This family-friendly event is free and open to all members of the community. Participants will dress up in their spookiest or most creative costume and paddle around Wickets Island guided by Onset Bay Center staff. 

The event schedule is as follows:

• 2 p.m., Onset Bay Center will be open with games and crafts
• 3 p.m., Participants will gather on the beach for an equipment check and a safety brief
• 3:15 p.m., Participants will set off from Onset Beach, led by Onset Bay Center staff and safety boats, and circumnavigate Wickets Island
• 4:30 p.m., All craft will return to the beach

Participants may bring their own board, kayak or other paddle craft, or book one of the craft provided by the Onset Bay Center. Register at www.savebuzzardsbay.org; pre-registration is required for participants who wish to use OBC equipment. 

Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Please make sure all costumes are safe and appropriate. Spectators are welcome to stay on the beach or pier and watch the paddlers as they parade around the bay.

Life jackets are required to be worn at all times while on the water for all participants. Onset Bay Center lifejackets will be available to anyone who needs to use them.

After the event, the Onset Beach Patio and Grille is offering 15% off food purchases for all participants, and 25% off for anyone in costume.
