Division 2 Boys

Silvia's Concession Runnin' Rebels, 45; Nana's Ice Cream Parlor Demon Deacons, 39 (OT)

The opening game of the season was an overtime thriller, thanks to 23 points from Seth Andrade and 8 points from Joey Silvia. Beau Vasconcellos scored 6 points while both Daniel Minkle Jr. and Kaemen Thomas chipped in with 4 points.

The Demon Deacons saw their offense powered by 19 points from Dominic Mello and 13 points from Justin Lopes. Vincent Silva-Pierce scored 4 points and Avyn Lopes hit a three pointer.

Wareham Police Association Eagles, 28; Cotter Machine Company Minutemen, 24

The Eagles captured the season-opening win in a tight game behind 16 points from Bryce Fernandes and 10 points from James Tobey. Tyler Santos tallied 2 points in the game.

Tony Lopez scored 14 points to lead the Minutemen in scoring column. Taylor Carlson added 4 points. Richard Hagopian, Desmond Powell and Jonah Depina each hit for 2 points.

 

Division 1 Boys

Narrows Crossing Grizzlies, 40; Marc Anthony's Bucks, 36

Nick Perry, Josh Onujiogu and Jonathan Warden combined to score 36 out of 40 points for the Grizzlies to take the victory. Michael Gill and Greg Van Lier each chipped in with 2 points.

The Bucks got 11 points from Jovahn Thomas and 8 points from John Thomas to keep within striking distance. Travis Johnston scored 7 points. The team got 5 points apiece from Geoff Cardoza and Koby Andrade.

Cotter Machine Company Thunder, 66; Sweet D Lakers, 28

The Thunder cruised to a blowout victory behind Jahmal Silva's 23 points. Durell Barros scored 14 points and Gregory Pina added 7 points. Cody Tuomala and Sonny Fernandes hit for 6 points apiece while Adrian Dugre and Robert Evans chipped in with 4 points apiece. David Doucette rounded out the team's offense with 2 points.

The Lakers got 9 points from Tyler Rondeau and 4 points each from Dyondre Dominguez and T. J. Barboza. Anthony Oliveira, Deion Debarros, Jared Yates, Stephen McCarthy and Harold Schwarz all hit for 2 points in the game.

Shirt Shack Bulls, 47; J & M Realty Hornets, 40

Jamual Sims led the Bulls to the win with 18 points. Alexx Rezendes scored 11 points and Ashantay Tavares added 9 points. Mason Lopes tallied 6 points while Naquan Young added 2 points. Marcus Monteiro hit a foul shot.

Michael Mcallister scored a game high 27 points to lead the Hornets. Nick Pavilonis had 8 points. Anthony Gomes scored 3 points and Trey Miranda finished with 2 points.

 

Division 1 Girls

Team Onujiogu Mercury, 37; In Memory of David Silva Sparks, 8

The Mercury dominated the game from the opening tip and cruised to the big win thanks to 15 points from Bailey Colon and 14 points from Tieyanna Yancey. Tiara Duarte scored 4 points. Monique Yancey and Jasmyn Onujiogu scored 2 points apiece.

Ann Marie Luppino scored 4 points to top the scoring list for the Sparks. Allison Maxim and Kali Fernandes each hit for 2 points.

Salerno's Function Hall Sky, 18; Ann Marie Uva Storm, 17

Maggie Robbins (3 points) hit the front end of a two shot foul with 13 seconds left to help the Sky lay claim to the opening-day victory. Gabrielle Lefrancois led the team in scoring with 13 points. Reign Fernandes and Sasha Miceli each hit a foul shot.

The Storm led at half-time but couldn't hold off the Sky, despite 10 points from Jillian Mello. Jala Yates added 5 points and Amber Borden scored 2 points.
