Vivian M. (Barrett) Pina, 88
WAREHAM – Vivian M. (Barrett) Pina, 88, of West Wareham passed away on June 13, 2024, at Tobey Hospital. She was the wife of the late John J. Pina, Jr. and the daughter of the late Carl and Virginia (Nunes) Barrett.
She was born in New Bedford and lived in Boston for many years before moving to West Wareham in 1989. She graduated from New Bedford High School and Kinyon-Campbell Business School.
Mrs. Pina worked as a Data Entry Clerk at Jordan Marsh in Boston for over 20 years before retiring.
She enjoyed gardening, cooking, shopping, going to plays and concerts, listening to music and watching her favorite television shows. Most of all she loved her family and caring for them.
Survivors include her daughter, June M. Pina of Boston; a son, John J. Pina, III of Boston; a sister, Lorraine Ferguson and her husband, Roland of New Bedford; her grandchildren, Shon Pina, Erik Pina, Jr. Erika Pina, Aliyah Alves-Pina; her great grandchildren, Dante Pina and Jada Pina; a host of nephews and nieces including Sonia Brooks. She was the mother of the late Erik J. Pina and sister of the late Joseph, Paul and Antone Barrett, Mary Baptiste, Grace DeBarrows and Gloria Gomes.
Visiting hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, June 24, 2024, at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – WAREHAM, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham.
Her funeral will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, 94 High St., Wareham. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
