Town election results delayed
Results were not available as of 1 a.m. Nov. 6, Town Clerk Lisa Johnson attributed the delay to a high turn-out and and unusual number of voters writing in candidates.
Officials have not finished the ballot validation process from votes cast on Election Day, early and mail in-ballots have already been counted but officials have not released the results.
Preliminary results show Wareham voters favoring Donald Trump for president as well as John Gaskey for state representative and Kelly Dooner for state senator.
Reporting from several precincts showed Wareham favoring John Deaton over Elizabeth Warren for senator. Republican Dan Sullivan is also narrowly leading Democratic incumbent U.S. Rep. Bill Keating.
Johnson said she expects to have final results later Wednesday morning.
