NEW BEDFORD – Ruth F. Harrington, 85, of New Bedford, formerly of Wareham died Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at her home in New Bedford.

Born in Boston's North End, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Ruth (LaMacchia) Harrington. She was raised in the Allston/Brighton section of the city before moving to Roslindale in 1970. Ruth moved to Wareham in 1986. She was an inspector for Polaroid in New Bedford. Ruth enjoyed going to the beach and sitting in the sun, reading and cooking family meals.

Survivors include her children, Michele F. Kane of New Bedford and Robert T. Rienstra of AZ. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, the late Ruth C. (Rienstra) Dias; and her brothers, the late Charles Harrington, James Harrington, Paul Harrington, and Leo Harrington.

Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at St. Patrick's Church, 94 High St., Wareham at 10 AM. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Brighton.
