Louise M. Irish, 66, home health aide

Louise M. (McCauley) Irish, 66, died September 27, at home surrounded by her friends and family in Wareham after a short, heartbreaking battle with cancer. She was the loving wife of Francis C. Irish for 46 years.

Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late William and Adelaide (Delahunt) McCauley. A previous resident of Dorchester and Quincy, she moved to Wareham and has been a resident for 40 years. Louise was employed as a home health aide for Preferred Home Care of Wareham. She was a loving mother and grandmother and would do anything for her family.

She is survived by her husband, Francis C. Irish; her son, Timothy M. Irish and his wife Anne-Marie of Attleboro; two daughters, Julie A. Jenkins and her husband Gerald of Wareham, and Shannon M. Rose and her husband Bruce of Wareham; two brothers, Kevin McCauley of Florida and Owen McCauley of Boston; her grandchildren, Bryant Irish, Kailyn Irish, Joshua Jenkins, and Kailee Rose. She was predeceased by her brother, the late Joseph P. McCauley.

Louise was known around town as a kind and caring woman, quick to share a smile or hug. She taught her children and grandchildren to pursue their dreams and to have the desire to better themselves.

Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 3, at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway, Wareham at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Mass. National Cemetery, Bourne. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m.
