Fundraiser for Wareham boy brings in $9,000

Oct 10, 2012

A fundraiser for 11-year-old Wareham resident Jeremiah Jeffers, who is battling cerebral palsy, brought in $9,000 during an event at the Redmen Hall on Sunday, October 7.

Cerebral palsy is a disorder that affects muscle control and coordination.

The family will use the money to begin a bathroom renovation. Jeremiah uses a wheelchair, and the bathroom is not big enough for his needs.

Loving neighbor Paula Barros and her husband, Charlie, assist the family on a daily basis and organized the fundraiser in an effort to help make life more comfortable for Jeremiah, his five-year-old brother, Aiden, and his grandmother, Cindy Jeffers, who raises both boys.
