Berch Onanian, 79, of Onset and North Reddington Beach, Fla., passed away Dec. 5 at Tobey Hospital in Wareham. Berch was the husband of Janet (Sorensen) Onanian, also of Onset and Fla.

Berch was born in Arlington, the son of the late Arakel and Sarah (Najarian) Onanian. He attended Watertown public schools and Wentworth Institute in Boston.

Berch is a U.S. Army veteran, serving as an MP during the Korean War. A Local 40 union carpenter, Berch enjoyed being the supervisor of the Quincy Market/Faneuil Hall renovation and restoration project. He was also an avid New England Patriots fan, a Mason, an Elk, and gardener.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Scott Onanian, and his wife Kelly, of West Wareham; a sister, Shirley Onanian, of Watertown; his grandchildren, Scott, Nicole, Lauren, Jayson, and Casey, and his great-grandson, Ashton. Berch is the father of the late Douglas and Dana Onanian, and the brother of the late George and Helen Onanian. He is also survived by many loving relatives and friends.

Visitation and prayers with the family will be on Saturday, December 8, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Wareham Village Funeral Home, 5 Center Street, Wareham.
