Boo! WaterWizz transforms into Halloween festival for all

Don’t be scared by the goblins, giant spiders and even gianter skeletons at WaterWizz, the park is just getting into the Halloween spirit.
Waterwizz is transforming the park from an aquatic array of fun into a scary good time for all during the month of October ashalloWizz, the water park’s first ever Halloween themed attraction which opened Saturday, Oct. 4.
While the water slides may not be open, the park is decorated with ghouls, goblins and everything spooky as well as a variety of carnival games and other attractions. There is a trick-or-treat trail for kids and a haunted house that opens up in the evening.
HalloWizz is open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 4:30 to 11 p.m. during October and each day is split into two parts. From 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. is what WaterWizz Director of Admissions Savannah James called the “kids time,” two hours of Halloween fun without the fright the holiday can bring. Then from 6:30 to 11 p.m., the park embraces the spook a little more and opens their 10 room haunted house.
According to James, the idea of HalloWizz is to embrace the owner’s love of Halloween and do different things with the park.
But WaterWizz was not the only one getting into the spooky season. Buzzards Bay residents 3-year-old Mac and 5-year-old Jolene Clark were at the event in full costume.
“I wanted to be a butterfly for fun,” Jolene said.
And Mac added he chose to be a police officer because they are “big and strong.”
Joining Mac and Jolene were their parents and their dad Anthony said he might not be dressing up but he still remembers his favorite costume.
“Army soldier was always my favorite with the fake gun and everything,” he said.
Anthony Clark added he remembers the fright was the one part of Halloween he always enjoyed most.
“I like the thrills of the spooky,” he said. “The scares are always fun.”
While costumes for kids 12-years-old and under are encouraged, not everyone was in costume. Nine-year-olds Sophia Tigano and Juliana Marshall were saving their costume for trick-or-treating.
“I’m going to be a blow-up dinosaur,” Juliana said.
“And I’m going to be a blow up alien,” Sohpia said.
