Candidates running unopposed in Wareham Fire District
Three candidates are running unopposed for three seats in the upcoming April 18 Wareham Fire District election.
Two seats are open for the Prudential Committee and one seat for the Board of Water Commissioners.
Last month, longtime Wareham Water Commissioner Ted Hatch announced he would not be seeking re-election. He has served the district since 1996.
Running unopposed for the open Water Commissioner seat is current Prudential Committee member Richard England.
While the Wareham Fire District bylaws state that elected officers are not eligible for appointed positions within the district (unless authorized by voters at an Annual Meeting) there is nothing that states a person cannot hold two elected offices at the same time.
Running for re-election for two seats on the Prudential Committee are Ronald Enos and Kenneth Baptiste.
The Wareham Fire District annual elections will be held on Saturday, April 18. The district Annual Meeting will be held prior to that on Monday, April 13.
Absentee ballots will be available in the Wareham Fire District’s Clerk/Treasurer office at 2550 Cranberry Highway starting Monday, March 23.
