David Monteiro, 78

David John Monteiro, of Euless, Texas, born on Nov. 23, 1939, in Brockton entered into eternal rest at the age 78 on Nov. 13. David proudly served in both the Marines and Air Force from 1957 to 1966 in which he received National Defense and Vietnam Service Medals.

David is survived by his beloved companion Deborah Plummer and daughters Charlotte Salas, Jennifer Shaw, Robyn Prinz and Sandra Newton. He is also survived by his son Jack Monteiro, Grandson Max Monteiro, sister Rebecca Mattos, Nephew Joseph “Tracy” Monteiro and aunts Pat Gomes and Charlene Medina of Brockton as well as many loving nieces, nephews and cousins including Kathy Andrews and Daniel Monteiro.

David was also a doting grandfather to his many grandchildren. David was a Master Mason of the Walter M. Pierson Grand Lodge of Texas. He was a longtime volunteer and chair member of multiple Alcoholics Anonymous groups throughout the metroplex. He was predeceased by his parents David D. Monteiro and Mae Duarte Monteiro, his sister Ruth Mae Strong and niece Gayle Monteiro Betts. David will be greatly missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
