Donald F. Hunter, 88
Donald F. Hunter, 88, of Wareham, died Jan. 15, 2011 at Tobey Hospital. He was the widower of the late Florence E. (Harju) Hunter and the son of the late Alexander and Mary (Miller) Hunter.
He was born in Wareham and lived there most of his life. He graduated from Wareham High School, Wentworth Institute of Technology, and Boston University.
He was a WWII Navy Veteran.
Mr. Hunter worked as an Electrical Engineer for General Electric in Lynn and then at Cornell Dubilier Electronics in New Bedford for many years before retiring.
He enjoyed working on his home, woodworking, puzzles, gardening, fishing, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include 3 daughters, Esther Jacobs of Englewood, FL, Kristine “Sue” Hunter of Los Angeles, CA, and Diane Hunter of Wareham; a son, Ronnie Hunter of Wareham; 10 grandchildren, Matthew, Jolene, Robert, Dominique, Heather, Michael, Christopher, Leonard, Donilyn, and Tatiana; 4 great-grandchildren, Seth, Gabriella, Ariana, and Chyna; 3 great-great-grandchildren, Riley, David and Jeremy. He was predeceased by two granddaughters, Katherine and Melissa.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 21, 2011 in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
