The JROTC in partnership with the summer school program at Wareham High School will be accepting flags to ceremoniously burn.
Burning an American flag is part of a retirement ceremony to dispose of a flag that is no longer in suitable condition for display.
Wareham residents who wish to retire their flags can drop them off at the Wareham High main office any weekday between the hours of 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Residents may also drop them in the flag boxes at the side or rear entrance to the high school anytime.
The ceremony will be held Tuesday, July 22 at Wareham High School.
