Eversource work will affect parking on Briarwood Drive
Apr 5, 2017
Upgrades to high-tension power lines across the Weweantic River will impact residents living on and near Briarwood Drive in April.
Selectmen announced that utility company Eversource will be working in the area from April 10 to 28. In May 2014, a trimaran passing beneath the lines caught fire, most likely because its mast either struck or came close to striking the power lines. Two people aboard escaped injury; however, the boat was fully engulfed in flames.
At the board’s Tuesday meeting, Selectmen said residents will be asked not to park on Briarwood Drive, Washington Drive, Roosevelt Street and Madison Street between the hours of 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday until the work is completed.
