Fundraiser for Walk to End Alzheimer's with Psychic Medium Matt Fraser.
UNITE IN A MOVEMENT TO RECLAIM THE FUTURE FOR MILLIONS. Alzheimer's disease is the sixth-leading cause of death in the United States. Did you know that 5.4 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's disease with an estimated 120,000+ people in Massachusetts alone?
Together, we can advance research to treat and prevent Alzheimer's, and provide programs to improve the lives of millions of affected Americans. As part of our way of supporting Alzheimer’s research, we have joined the nation's largest event to raise awareness and funds to fight Alzheimer's disease, "The Walk to End Alzheimer’s". We walk to honor Faye Miles, who was diagnosed 5 years ago.
Faye was like many of us: a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a friend. She was a teacher, a caregiver, a significant other. She enjoyed family, friends, gardening and sports. Unfortunately all this was taken from Faye far too early. Since January 2012 her needs have made it impossible for her to be cared for at home and she has been living in a long term care facility. Barbara Meehan, her partner for 33 years states it best when she says "Though [Faye] is content and well taken care of, I do not wish anyone else to have to face the decision to put someone they love in long term care." So we join together and walk for Faye. HELP US PUT AN END TO A DISEASE THAT STEALS AWAY SOMEONE YOU LOVE.
There is no cure for Alzheimer’s. It is a terminal disease. Team "Friends of Faye" is organizing a fundraiser to raise money to be given to the National Alzheimer’s Association to help change these statistics. On July 28, 2012, we will be hosting a night of fun and excitement featuring Messages from Heaven with Psychic Medium Matt Fraser at the Wareham Lodge of Elks #1548 in East Wareham, Massachusetts from 1p-3p. Doors open at 12:30. Cash Bar. Roll-Up Raffle. *This is a 14+ event.
