Insanity to ensue at Mad Tea Party, Oct. 21

Oct 4, 2016

If insanity, tea parties, and watching people from around town try their best at acting, sounds like a good time, then check out The Mad Tea Party. The spoof on Alice in Wonderland will be held on Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. at Redmen Hall, 758 Main St.

“I think that people who will come will be amazed and amused to see some of Wareham's best known characters having a really good time to benefit the library,” said director Judith Whiteside.

In previous years, Whiteside, who currently chairs the Board of Selectmen, directed mystery plays. She decided to switch it up this year with the Mad Tea Party.

“When I looked all of the available scripts and they were very similar to what we had been doing, and I just thought we would give it a shot,” she said. Tickets cost $25 and are available at the Main and Spinney Branch libraries. All proceeds will go toward the library.

The following cast and characters will be in the play: Glenn Lawrence as the White Rabbit, Michael Carlozzi as the Mad Hatter, Jackson Gilman as March Hare, Rose Berry as Dormouse, Noah Young as Time, Chelle Montrond as Caterpillar, Mary Bruce as Duchess/Queen of Hearts, Peter Teitelbaum as the Frog Footman, Peter Dunlop as a Playing Card, Kat Jones as Cheshire Cat One and the Jabberwock, Zarrin Tasnim Ahmed as Cheshire Cat Two, Sandy Slavin as Twiddle Dee and Alan Slavin as Twiddle Dum.
