Irene V. Baptiste, 76, of E. Wareham, died Wednesday, December 24 at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford. She was the wife of the late Maurice J. Baptiste, Sr.

Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Mary Perry. Mrs. Baptiste was a lifelong resident of West Wareham and was a housekeeper.

She is survived by her daughter, Heidi Baptiste of E. Wareham; her son, Maurice J. Baptiste, Jr. of Wareham; her grandchildren, Sabria Chytrs and Bakye Baptiste; and her great granddaughter, Ryanne Tavares. She was predeceased by her granddaughter, the late Ashley Baptiste.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 9 at Emmanuel Assembly of God, 15 Highland Ave., Onset at 6 p.m. Burial will be at a later date. Visiting hours have been omitted.
