It's fall ya'll: When will Wareham see peak fall colors?

Sep 20, 2025

With pumpkin spice in the air once more, summer came and went unbe-leaf-ably fast.

The autumn equinox will fall on Monday, Sept. 22 just in time for the first signs of leaves changing according to the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation.

The department launched the 2025 fall foliage map which details when and where residents can see reds, oranges and yellows dot the scenery across the state.

By analyzing current conditions and data from past years department forestry staff predict approximately when the leaves in each area will change color throughout the season, including when they will reach their peak. This year, most of the state will see peak colors in mid-October.

Warehamites can start to see leaves change starting on the equinox with colors reaching their mid-point Monday, Sept. 29.

Just in time for Halloween, the town is predicted to reach its peak Monday, Oct. 27.
