Jason V. Gonsalves, 77
WAREHAM – Jason V. Gonsalves, 77, formerly of Wareham, passed away on October 8, 2025 at The Oaks in New Bedford. He was the son of the late Jason and Isabelle (Triano) Gonsalves.
He was born in New York, New York and grew up in Woodbridge and Newark, NJ. He then moved to Wareham where he lived for many years. He graduated from Irvington Technical High School, Irvington, NJ.
Jason enjoyed watching television and spending time with his nieces and nephews quizzing them on history facts. Jason enjoyed bowling and played in many leagues at Lyons Lanes Bowling Alley. He also enjoyed fast cars and putting together models of cars and planes.
Survivors include his sister, Joann “Jody” Nye and her husband, Nate of Marion; a brother, James Gonsalves, Sr. of Carver; his nieces and nephew, Shannon Nye, Melissa Mansfield, Ashley Cass, and James Gonsalves, Jr; several great nephews and nieces.
Jason’s family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at The Oaks in New Bedford for their compassion and care while he was living there.
Visiting hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 16, 2025 at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – WAREHAM, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
