Little Leaguers march on Opening Day

Apr 27, 2015

Nothing says spring quite like baseball. And for hundreds of Wareham families, Sunday marked the beginning of spring with the return of Wareham Little League baseball.

The 15 teams that comprise the Wareham Little League marched down Route 28 from the Little People's College to the baseball fields on Charge Pond Road Sunday morning in the annual Opening Day Parade.

Families and friends lined the streets and cheered on the players before they arrived at the ball fields.

Wareham Little League President Quirino doCanto addressed the crowds before the games, introduced the teams and set the tone for the rest of the sunny day.

At the end of his Opening Day speech, he said, "Let's have some fun and play some baseball."
