Marie H. Auld, 68, housekeeper, member of Wankinquoah Rod and Gun Club
Marie H. (Soares) Auld, 68, died September 2 at her home in Wareham. She was the wife of Ronald J. Auld.
Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Joseph O. & Annette (Gagnon) Soares. A longtime resident of New Bedford, she moved to Wareham in 1979. Mrs. Auld worked as a housekeeper at Sassaquin Nursing Home in New Bedford.
A member of Wankinquoah Rod and Gun Club in Wareham, Mrs. Auld enjoyed camping, fishing and gardening. She also enjoyed spending her time with her children and grandchildren.
The Auld family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Thomas Gleason of Wareham for his care during her illness.
Mrs. Auld is survived by her husband; her children, Paul L. Metivier of Westport, Kenneth J. Metivier of New Bedford, Kristen M. Murphy of W. Wareham, Ronald J. Auld, Jr. of Marion and Megan M. Greene of Wareham; her siblings, Mark Soares of Freetown, Cecelia Bernier of Parker, CO, Richard Soares of Fall River, Diane Olear of Buena Vista, CO and David Soares of Plaistow, NH; 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; her former husband Leo Metivier of New Bedford and her special friend, Claire Hoffman of Wareham.
Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the Auld family at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Rt. 28), Wareham on Saturday September 10 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Interment will be private.
