Old fashioned Chicken Supper and "Popular Music from the Golden Age."

The Rochester Historical Society will host an old fashioned Chicken Supper and a presentation on "Popular Music from the Golden Age (1920 - 1939)" by music historian and tenor John Root.  The meal will be served by the Rochester Historical Society at the First Congregational Church Hall at Rochester Center on Saturday, July 24 at 5:30 p.m.

Tickets for the supper are $12 and are available from Fran at 508-295-9588 or Betty at 508-763-2724. After dinner Root will give a presentation of the Golden Age of American songwriting and offer insights into the customs and values of these bygone days. The musical program is supported by a grant from the Rochester Cultural Council, a local agency, which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
