Onset’s Teddy Mathews secured a spot on the rebooted “American Idol” and was part of the show’s taping in March. Mathews, who auditioned in New York before judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryant and Lionel Richie, didn’t make it past the singing competition’s early round.
