Reverend Lois U. Rycroft, 89

WAREHAM - After a lifetime of giving and serving her Lord Jesus Christ, Reverend Lois Ufford Rycroft peacefully passed away at age 89 at home in Wareham with her family and her dog, Hannah, at her side on April 3, 2023.

She is remembered by family and friends as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and beloved Chaplain to so many friends and loved ones.

Lois served so many as a Chaplain for Upper Cape Chaplaincy, an elementary school teacher, and active participant in various church and music programs whereshe sang in choirs and played the violin and trumpet.  She was also on the Board of Trumpeteers Christian Ministries, the Board of Turning Point, and a past member of the Wareham Clergy Association.

She earned a Bachelor's Degree at Western Connecticut State College and a Master's Degree from The University of Bridgeport in Connecticut.

She is survived by her children, Joan Rycroft Guenard of East Wareham, MA; Robert C. Rycroft of Bethlehem, CT; and David S. Rycroft (Lisa Allain) of Woodbridge, VA; her grandchildren Nathan D. Rycroft (Makayla Nadeau) of Stoughton, MA; and Christopher R. Rycroft (Jenn Otten) of Winston-Salem, NC; her great-grandchildren Parker E. Rycroft and Emerson A. Rycroft; her sister, Joy Penderville of Canonsburg, PA. Also surviving are her many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Visiting hours are from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at Chapman Funerals & Cremations WAREHAM,2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham. A Celebration of Life for friends and family will be held at a later date.
