WAREHAM – Robert “Bob/Shep” Thomas Shepherd, July 24, 1964-October 4, 2023, died on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, unexpectedly at home. He was 59 years old.

He was born in Pawtucket, RI and raised in Taunton, MA and lived in Wareham, MA.

He was predeceased by his parents Roy Henry and Catherine Irene (Kennedy) Shepherd and his brother-in-law Paul Waterman all of Taunton, MA.

Robert was a correction officer for the state for 30 years and retired 12 years ago. During his retirement, he loved going fishing, playing golf, cooking on the grille for family and friends (known as the grille master), or yelling at the TV during his favorite wrestling match or football game or just sitting by the canal listening to his radio. His best times were spent with his loving wife playing cribbage or just watching jeopardy and wheel of fortune.

He is survived by his wife Althea (Santos) Shepherd of Wareham, MA. His sisters Cheryl Marsden and Collen Waterman, his brother Jack Shepherd, His brother-in-law Glenn Marsden, His niece Danielle Bouchard, his nephews Robert Marsden and Stephen Waterman all of Taunton, MA, Michael Waterman of Florida and his great-nephew Owen Bouchard of Taunton, MA.

Robert leaves behind two beautiful stepchildren, he calls his own Latysha Santos of Wareham, MA and Antone Souza III of New Bedford, MA and four amazing grandchildren he absolutely cherished TreVon Souza of Mashpee, MA, Tajaan and Tavein Souza of Wareham, MA and Tailyn Souza of New Bedford, MA who will miss their Papa like crazy.

Visiting hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, October 13, 2023, at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – WAREHAM, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham.
