Roby's Propane Gas, a Wareham-based supplier which has operated for decades, has been acquired by Dead River Company, a regional full-service heating provider. 

Roby's will continue to operate as it has been, said Dead River Company spokesperson Lisa Morissette. 

"Roby's will continue to offer competitive pricing, prompt deliveries and responsive service — all delivered by the same great employees, who customers know and trust — out of the same West Wareham location," Morissette said. 

"We're thrilled for our employees and customers that the Roby's philosophy and practice of customer service will be carried on by Dead River Company," said Wayne Rutledge, president of Roby's. 

The fuel storage capacity and employee training opportunities of Dead River Company will bolster those of Roby's, according to Morissette. 

When asked the circumstances behind the sale, she said, "It was just the right time for the owners to transfer ownership."
