Sailing events at Onset Bay Center

Join the Onset Bay Center at 186 Onset Ave for sailing classes this month. Here is the schedule for October: 

On Oct. 8 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., join highly experienced sailing instructors for adult sailing classes for all adults age 18+. The program is designed to provide adults formal sailing instruction on their fleet of sailing vessels. The sailing level is flexible given the participants present, and the content is designed to introduce, develop and challenge sailing skills at all levels. Later that day on Oct. 8, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., teen sailing lessons for teens ages 13-17 is designed to provide teens with formal sailing instruction on their fleet of sailing vessels. In addition to teaching sailing skills, the program encourages teenage participants to develop and display characteristics such as leadership, critical decision making, and responsibility through activities on and off the water. On Oct. 9 from 10 to 11 a.m., or 12 to 1 p.m., join the Onset Bay Center for a Sunday sail. This is good for beginners who are curious about sailing but unsure where to start. Sign up for a Sunday sail session to try it out. This beginner and family friendly course offers a trip aboard their 12-person Drascombe Gig and allows you to experience Onset Bay in a whole new way. On Oct. 22 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., join us for the Onset Bay Center for their Adaptive Sailing Class for people of varying physical abilities. The Onset Town Pier is not wheelchair accessible, so participants should be able to walk down a few stairs, down a ramp and then step into our 25’ Drascombe Gig from the dock. Instructors for the class are very capable sailors on the water and are ready to offer a helping hand to assist in boarding and disembarking.
