A santa-clause for celebration with the Christmas parade
Here comes Santa Clause right down Main Street way as the Wareham Village Association's annual Christmas parade nears.
The parade held Saturday, Dec. 6 at 2 p.m. will feature local organizations, groups and floats from Viking Drive to Besse Park. President of the association, Tracy McGraw calls the event her "baby."
"I'll never stop doing it if I can help it," McGraw said, "I literally ride with Santa in the fire truck."
With elves, bagpipers and football players strutting down the street those interested can still join in on the fun. McGraw said that there is no deadline to enter and that the application is active on warehamvillage.com.
"We ask that they do it as soon as they can just for staging reasons," she said.
McGraw is still organizing with the police department on the exact time Route 6 and Main Street will be closed, but said drivers can expect roads will be blocked off closer to 2 p.m. that Saturday.
Following the parade, Warren's Harborview at 59 Main Street will be hosting an extended celebration with Santa, bounce houses and more.
