Select Board approves fall Town Meeting articles

Sep 20, 2023

The Select Board voted to close the warrant for the fall Town Meeting set to take place on Monday, Oct. 23 and approved submitted articles.

The Sewer Commission’s $36 million borrowing authorization request for replacement of the “headworks” and “clarifiers” used in the beginning stages of the treatment system at the Water Pollution Control Facility will be brought to a vote again.

The article was rejected at the Monday, July 24 Special Town Meeting, with residents and town officials voicing concern for the lack of information about the project and future plans for the facility.

There will also be a number of bylaw changes up for a vote at the meeting, including from the Zoning Board of Appeals.

Additionally, there are a few petition articles, including one for an amendment of the Affordable Housing bylaws.

Marks Cove Vista, which the Land Trust plans to purchase and preserve, also appears on the Town Meetings warrant.
