Select Board approves new precinct plan for Wareham

Oct 12, 2021

The Select Board voted to approve a new precinct plan for the town at its Oct. 12 meeting.

The precinct plan was designed at the state level following the release of results from the 2020 census.

The town will continue to be divided into six precincts, although Select Board member Peter Teitelbaum said that it’s likely a seventh will be added after the 2030 census.

Select Board member Alan Slavin said he went to look at the map in person in the Town Clerk’s office, and said that most of the changes took place in West Wareham. Overall, he said, the tweaks are minimal.

Those whose precincts will be changed will receive a letter from the town. One’s precinct determines where one votes in elections.
