Summer of Celebration DVDs available
Last year’s Summer of Celebration can be enjoyed all over again, thanks to Wareham Community TV.
The local television station has released its Summer of Celebration DVDs as a 5-disc set. The historic Summer of Celebration last year celebrated Wareham’s founding in 1739, and invasion of the HMS Nimrod in 1814 with a series of 15 period-themed events.
WCTV's Technical Director Steve Ruiz said the station thoroughly covered everything.
“It covers pretty much everything that happened last summer -- everything from the opening ceremony to ... the reenactment of the Battle of Besse Park and the encampment church service,” Ruiz said. “There’s quite a bit that’s on the discs.”
Ruiz said the station currently has about 90 DVD sets, but will order more, if need be. DVD sets are $25 each. Interested buyers may go down to the station to purchase a set. For more information, email the station at info@warehamtv.org.
