West African sounds
The Wareham Free Library will be filled with joyful noise Friday, Nov. 7 starting at 7 p.m.
Sean Gaskell will make his return to the library at 59 Marion Road playing the West African Kora. This instrument has been played for centuries and has been used to tell the history and fabric of Mande society.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and no registration is required.
Saturday, Nov. 8
Star quality guidance
Look toward the future with a day full of events.
The First Spiritualist Church of Onset will be holding its fall holistic fair Saturday, Nov. 8 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Elks Lodge, 2855 Cranberry Highway. Mediums, psychics, card readers, astrologers, reiki, healers, reflexology, vendors, crystals, jewelry, raffles and a food truck will be present at the event.

Veterans Day parade
Get to Main Street early Tuesday morning, there’s a parade coming to town.
The annual Veterans Day Parade is being held Tuesday, Nov. 11. Starting at 10 a.m. hundreds will depart from Besse Park towards Centre Park down Main Street honoring those who served.
Wednesday, Nov. 12
Touch some grass
Connect with nature, get outside and learn how to document it at the Wareham Land Trust’s nature journaling 101 class.
The class will be held at the Wareham Free Library, 59 Marion Road Wednesday, Nov. 12 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Participants will learn simple techniques for sketching and documenting nature and how journaling can expand one’s curiosity.
Open to all skill levels, this session will introduce simple techniques for recording your outdoor experiences.
No artistic background required! The class is free to join.
Walkin’ on a Wednesday
Put on some walking shoes and get outside with the Wareham Land Trust for a walk in the Great Neck Wildlife Sanctuary, Wednesday, Nov. 12.
The hike will run from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and cover just under three miles with minimal stops. The land trust said participants can expect to get a workout in as opposed to a leisurely walk. The trail is mostly flat but roots and rocks will be present.
Parking is available at the end of Stockton Shortcut Street at the Old Sacred Hearts Seminary. The land trust advises people the lot is not in the forest, but past a small lot and the entrance is where Great Neck Road meets Stockton Shortcut Street.
