Town seeking citizens to help study wetlands regulations
Oct 29, 2015
The Town of Wareham is looking for two citizens to serve on the Wetland Bylaw Study Committee. Applications are available in the Selectmen's Office or online at www.wareham.ma.us.
At Oct. 26 Town Meeting, the voters established a seven-member committee to study the town bylaw that regulates what property owners may do on and near wetlands. The current bylaw has come under fire for being too restrictive. Initially, Selectmen were going to ask Town Meeting to abolish the bylaw altogether.
Five members of the study committee will be town officials. Two will be Wareham residents who are also registered voters.
