Turning Point offers thanks for help with dessert barn at bluegrass event
To the Editor:
The weather cooperated and the setting was magnificent for toe-tapping music at the Kentucky Bluegrass Day at Tihonet Village on August 25.
The paddle boats were fun for young and old alike, and thanks to the efforts of A.D. Makepeace's Director of Events and Agritourism, Kim Houdlette, and a team of volunteers, a dessert barn benefitted Turning Point of Wareham, our local homeless resource center.
Not only were yummy ice cream desserts served, but folks were educated about the agency and the local homeless situation.
Our thanks to Kool Kone and Perry's Last Stand, both of Wareham, and Mattapoisett's Oxford Creamery, for the ice cream and toppings. Thank you to CN Smith Farms, BJ's Wholesale Club, Reinhart Food Service, Shaw's, and Market Basket, for peaches and other donations.
Turning Point appreciates your support!
