UPDATE: House fire on Depot St., no injuries reported

Feb 4, 2020

Wareham Fire Department responded to a structural fire at 6 Depot Street just after 8 p.m. on Tuesday night.

No one was injured, but four people — two adults and two children — were displaced, along with several birds. The Red Cross provided aid to the residents.

The cause of the fire, which appeared to be centered on the rear of the second story of the home, was accidental.

The Onset Fire Department provided mutual aid at the scene, and Wareham Police Department and Wareham Emergency Medical Services also responded. Mass Highway helped manage traffic at each end of Depot Street.

In total, three engines, a ladder truck, and various support vehicles responded.

Onlookers noted that the home had been substantially renovated and improved in recent years.
