A walk for peace

There's a chance to put differences aside and come together for peace.

Wareham Faith in Action will host a Peace Walk at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 25.

The walk will begin at the sidewalks around Wareham Town Green, continue along Main Street to Chapel Street and return to the Town Green.

Wareham Faith in Action said the event is intended as a peaceful, visible presence to promote unity and support for a hurting world. It is open to anyone who supports a message of peace, including those who may join for part of the route.

The event is not a protest or rally, organizers said, and participants are asked to leave political signs at home and instead carry messages promoting peace and unity.

A rain date is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, April 26.
