Walmart super center will strain our resources
To the Editor:
I strongly oppose the proposed Walmart super center at Tobey Road and Cranberry Highway.
My understanding is that our sewer capacity is limited and this project will strain our resources. A super center with the grocery store contains prepared foods and other products that discharge great volumes in our system.
We would benefit if the town approves a smaller project without a food store component, such as the one prescribed by the neighborhood grocery zoning language. Such a project would create less strain on our infrastructure and sewer capacity.
How can we give nearly all of our capacity to a huge user and restrict future home-grown small businesses from gaining access to the town's resources?
Sincerely,
Deborah J. Quintin
