Walter E. “Whitey” Randall, 94
Wareham-Walter E. “Whitey” Randall, 94, husband of 74 years to Carolyn J. (Loring) Randall also of Wareham passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday Sept. 23, 2025. Whitey was born in Manchester, New Hampshire in 1931, the son of the late Roland O. and Alice L. (Barnes) Randall. The family moved to Marion and a neighbor seeing Walter’s very blonde hair called him “Whitey” and the nick name stayed with him for life.
He attended Wareham public schools meeting his beloved wife Carolyn in high school. They were married in March of 1951. Soon after Whitey enlisted in the United States Marines. Serving during the Korean War and was stationed in Cherry Point, NC. and Carolyn and Whitey welcomed their son Walter E. Jr. “Butch” into this world.
Returning home to Wareham, Whitey started his construction business W.E. Randall, Inc. and owned and operated it for 50 years. A great gardener, he was known for his big boy tomatoes that he shared with family , friends, neighbors and his doctors. A member of the Wareham Lodge of Elks # 73, Past Exalted Ruler, Trustee Chairman and House Committee Cook. He and Carolyn also traveled extensively in their motorcoach throughout the United States and Canada.
He is survived by his daughters Catherine of Deerfield, MA and Susan of East Wareham. Grandfather of Jessica and her husband Kyle Wajdo, Raymond of Harrisburg, PA and Walter T. of Wareham. 6 Great grandchildren and many loving nieces nephews, relatives and friends. Father of the late Walter E. “Butch” Randall Jr. Brother of the late Roland O. Randall and Vivian D. Bates.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday September 28, from 4-6pm in the Wareham Village Funeral Home 5 Center St. Wareham, Parking attendants will be available to assist you. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. His funeral cortege will form at the Wareham Village Funeral Home on Monday at 10:15am followed by a graveside service at 11 0’clock in Agawam Cemetery Rd Stillman Memorial drive.
