Wareham Democrats to caucus

Wareham Democrats will caucus at the Wareham Free Library at 59 Marion Rd. on February 29 at 10 a.m. to elect nine delegates and four alternates to the Massachusetts State Convention. The State Convention will be held at the Tsongas Center at UMASS Lowell on May 30.
Delegates will be divided evenly between men and women in accordance with Democratic Party rules. Any registered Wareham Democrat at least eighteen years of age is welcome to attend the caucus and run for a position as delegate.
Candidates must be present at the caucus and be willing to consent to nomination in writing. Each candidate may make a two minute statement and distribute written materials on their behalf. All ballots will be written, secret and counted by the caucus tellers. Anyone not elected as delegate or alternate delegate may apply to be an “add-on delegate” in one of the following categories: youth (under age 35), minority, or disabled.
Discrimination in the basis of race, sex, age, color, creed, national origin, ethnic identity, sexual orientation, or economic status, in the conduct of the caucus is strictly prohibited. Any challenges to the delegate selection process must be made within ten days of the caucus to the Massachusetts Democratic Party, 77 Summer Street, Boston, MA 02110.
