Wareham falls to Seekonk, 23-8

Nov 7, 2010

Wareham suffered its seventh straight loss of the season, this time to visiting Seekonk, by a score of 23-8.  The Vikings held a brief 8-7 lead on a Darien Fernandes one-yard touchdown and an Eric Souza two-point conversion.  But they were unable to hold Seekonk for the remainder of the first half, giving up two rushing touchdowns and two two-point conversions to fall behind at the half 23-8.

In the second half, Wareham showed a much more determined defense, holding the 6-2 Seekonk Warriors scoreless.  But the Vikings failed to mount any offense of their own, leaving their fans frustrated once again.

The Vikings currently hold a 1-8 record (1-4 South Coat League) and play next Friday at Apponequet at 7 p.m.
