Wareham Free Library offers winter concert on Dec. 21
On Dec. 21, celebrate the winter solstice with a free concert of winter music from the medieval, Renaissance and Baroque eras. The program begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Wareham Free Library, 50 Marion Road.
Jay and Abby Michaels will perform. The duo has been performing since 2002. Both sing and play over a dozen traditional plucked, bowed and woodwind instruments including harps, dulcimers, wooden flutes, recorders, bowed psaltery, rebec and baroque guitar.
Their harp playing has been featured in several television programs including ABC's Nashville, Secrets and Lies; NBC's Parenthood and Parks and Recreation; Fox's Lie To Me and Rosewood and the HBO series Hung.
This concert is free and open to the public. This program is supported in part by a grant from the Wareham Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
