The Wareham Gatemen are set to kick off the Cape Cod Classic at Polar Park in Worcester later this month.

The Gatemen will play the Bourne Braves in the event, with first pitch scheduled for 6:45 p.m. and gates opening at 5:45 p.m. on Monday, July 25. The Worcester Red Sox are hosting the event in the city’s baseball stadium at 100 Madison St.

Tickets for general admission cost $10 and allow fans to sit anywhere in the seating bowl first-come, first-serve. Tickets are available at the stadium’s ticket office or online at polarpark.com/ccbl.

Before the Cape Cod Classic, the Gatemen will host a “WooSox Night” at Spillane Field on Friday, July 15 during the team’s game against the Hyannis Harbor Hawks. A member of the WooSox front office will deliver the ceremonial first pitch, and WooSox mascots Smiley Ball and Woofster the WonderDog will greet fans.

“This is a great opportunity for local Worcester residents who won’t have the chance to make it out to the Cape this summer to see the best collegiate baseball talent in the country,” said Gatemen Senior Vice President Glen Hannington in a press release.
