Wareham senior completes high school golf career at Eastern CC

Nov 1, 2011

Matthew Crocker represented the Wareham High School golf team Tuesday, Oct. 25 at the Eastern Country Club for the state division final.

Crocker—a senior at Wareham High School and co-captain of the golf team who played the No. 1 slot—shot an 85 and the cut-off was 77, so he did not place, but said he had fun anyway.

"It was my last golf match [for] the high school, so it was definitely a little bit weird," he said.

He said he thinks he played fairly well in his last season, but was not always completely happy with his performance. He had similar thoughts for the way his team played this season, adding that the team could have improved in places.

"But we hung in there," Crocker said.

Crocker said he looks forward to playing golf post-high school and wants to thank the Bay Pointe Country Club in Onset for serving as the home course for the team.
