The Selectmen on October 19 presented U.S. Army First Class Private Jonele Westgate with a plaque inscripted with a proclamation honoring Westgate for her service in the U.S. Army.

Westgate, who serves in the 82^nd Airborne Division, is currently home from Afghanistan on leave after serving overseas for a year.

Military service is a tradition in Westgate's family.  Her father served in the Army National Guard and her grandfather served in Korea. Her great-grandfather landed on Omaha beach on D-Day during World War II.
