William L. Ringer, 82
William L. Ringer, 82, of West Wareham, died May 31 in Tobey Hospital. He was the husband of Gloria Lorraine (Scott) Ringer, they were married for 58 years and the son of the late Lester H. and Shirley N. (Harlow) Ringer.
He was born in Boston and lived in Quincy, Stoughton and Randolph before moving to Wareham. He spent winters in Venice, Florida. Mr. Ringer held a Bachelor’s Degree from Northeastern University.
He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Ringer worked as Assistant Vice President of Finance at Paine Webber in Boston for many years before retiring.
He was a member of the Rose Point Beach Association. He enjoyed painting, spending time with his family and traveling, especially to Nova Scotia.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Lorraine (Scott) Ringer of West Wareham; three sons, William L. Ringer, Jr. of East Poultney, Vermont, Jeffrey S. Ringer of Marshfield and Bruce S. Ringer of Halifax; a brother, Robert Ringer of Dover, DE and Patricia Svedman of Texas; two grandchildren, Katelyn E. Ringer and Jeffrey J. Ringer.
His visiting hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 4 in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway.
