YMCA ‘Sip & Support’ event planned for Oct. 7

Sep 21, 2021

The Gleason Family YMCA will be hosting its annual food and beverage tasting “Sip & Support” event on Oct. 7 at 6 p.m. at Stone Path Malt Taproom. The event is a part of the YMCA’s yearly fundraising campaign.

This year, the Y is inviting people to spend an evening at Stone Path Malt “sipping craft beer and wine, sampling savory bits of food, listening to live music by Harry French and bidding on silent auction items.”

A ticket costs $50 per person. A ticket includes a craft beer or wine, a charcuterie grazing box, soup or chowder from Blount Fine Foods, desserts and a custom-made cheeseboard to take home.

A $75 “VIP” ticket includes a tour of Stone Path Malt, a sampler flight and a pour of beer, a charcuterie grazing box, Cabot Cheese pairing with your beer, soup or chowder from Blount Fine Foods and a custom made cheese board to take home.

The charcuterie grazing boxes include an assortment of various types of Italian meats and cheeses presented with crackers and an assortment of fresh or dried fruit and olives.

All proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit the Gleason Family YMCA’s Annual Campaign.

A $1 oyster bar has been added to the fundraiser, so attendees can taste fresh, local oysters presented by Snug Harbor Fish Co. of Duxbury. The YMCA will have a variety of items available via silent auction, or attendees can pick one of the popular “Mystery Bags,” which will contain items worth $20 or more.

Those who want to support the Y without attending an in-person event can purchase a “ticket to go.” The ticket allows people to pick up their grazing box, cheese board, soup or chowder and beverage before the event starts. “Ticket to go” bags must be picked up Stone Path Malt the night of the event.

For more information on this option, or to make a donation to the event, please contact the YMCA via email prior to the event: clongfield@ymcasc.org.
