The Gleason Family YMCA in Wareham needs to raise $75,000 to finish its expansion, which will include a multi-purpose fitness studio and separate adult locker rooms with therapeutic steam and sauna. The expansion is needed so the YMCA can add programming and dedicate the existing locker rooms to the youth.

"[It] is still a lot of money, but seems to be a possible goal compared to where we began," Director of Development Jill Tompkins said in a statement. "In February we had $800,000 left to raise...Then the Penzance Foundation made the game-changing offer to match all donations up to $400,000--basically they cut our goal in half--and we are almost there."
