Arlene A. (Bennett) Benson, 92, died Thursday, February 27, at The Hannah B. G. Shaw Home in Middleboro. She was the wife of the late Warren E. Benson.

Born in Plymouth, she was the daughter of the late George R. and Myrna A. (McMann) Bennett. She was a long-time resident of Wareham before moving to Middleboro in 2011. Arlene was a homemaker, and her greatest legacy is her family. She was member of the First Congregational Church in Wareham, a long-time volunteer at the Wareham Free Library and a member of the Emblem Club in East Wareham.

She is survived by six sons, Warren E. Benson, Jr. and his wife Deborah (Johnson) of Wareham, Eric A. Benson and his wife Anne (Hobbs) of Westford, Mark A. Benson and his wife Karen (Gum) of Houston, TX, Peter L. Benson and his wife Christine (Montgomery) of Harwich, Larry Pupello and his wife Patricia (Konkus) of Georgetown, CA, and Jonathan Taylor and his wife Patricia (Vogel) of Portland, ME; two daughters, Joanne E. (Benson) Norton and her husband Richard Norton of Westford, and Sandra (Taylor) Hill and her husband Richard Hill of Easton; 22 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, March 5, at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Rt. 28) Wareham, from 5 - 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 6, at the First Congregational Church, Gibbs Avenue, Wareham, at 11 a.m. Interment will be at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Hannah B. G. Shaw Home at 299 Wareham St., Middleboro, MA 02346 in memory of Arlene.
