Fundraiser and motorcycle run for Curtis vs. Cancer

Aug 17, 2010

A Curtis vs. Cancer Family Fun Day, to raise money for 14-year-old Wareham resident Curtis Grace, will be held at the Dudley L. Brown VFW on Sunday, August 22, from noon to 6 p.m.

Curtis was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia in January. He is currently receiving treatment and recovering from a bone marrow transplant. The funds raised will go toward the installation of air purification and central air conditioning in Curtis' home, as well as help with other bills that the family has accrued.

Admission for adults is $10. Children 12 and younger get in free. DJ Lady K will provide entertainment, and the event will feature games, a "bounce house," facepainting, a 50/50 raffle, and an auction. Food will be available for purchase.
A motorcycle run will also be part of the fundraiser. It will begin at Decas Elementary at 12:30 p.m., with participants making a grand entrance at the VFW at approximately 1:30 p.m.

Registration for the motorcycle run begins at 10:30 a.m. It is $10 to participate in the run, which includes admission to the Family Fun Day event at the VFW.
