Learn the history of the Wareham Library with the Historical Society

Feb 9, 2015

The Wareham Historical Society will hold a program on the 124 year history of the Wareham Free Library on Monday, Feb. 16 at 7 p.m.

Priscilla Porter will discuss how the library was started, where it was and any library activity in the town before the Free Library was founded in 1891.

There are three organizations linked to the current library: The Library Board of Trustees, the Wareham Free Library Foundation and the Friends of Wareham Free Library.

Who those groups are, what their roles and responsibilities are, as well as what the public can do to help the library will all be discussed at the event.

The event will be held at the Old Methodist Meeting House at 495 Main St.

Admission is free to members and $2.00 for non-members. For more information, call Angela Dunham, president of the Wareham Historical Society at (508) 295-8578.
